The Palma Superyacht Show is a celebrated event in the annual yachting calendar, and in light of revised dates to take place early this June, anticipation has only been growing. For those who simply cannot wait to get back on the docks again, Ocean Independence has announced it will be hosting an open weekend in Mallorca in the run-up to the show – offering potential buyers, charterers and brokers an ideal opportunity to view OI’s remarkable fleet.
The open weekend will be held from 29-30 May at various marinas around the island of Palma, and will be an invite-only event to allow for intimate and exclusive viewings. Stringent health and safety measures will be in place, in compliance with local regulations as well as social distancing requirements.
In line with this, viewings will be by timed appointment only, with yachts to be sanitised and cleaned between viewings by crew. Transfers between yachts will be by visitors’ own vehicles or in brokers’ sanitised cars / minibuses.
The provisional list of yachts available to view at the open weekend includes 47m sailing yacht ASOLARE for charter, 37m sailing yacht LA CATTIVA for sale, 35m motor yacht ALCOR for sale and charter, and more (all pictured above).
Senior Charter Manager at Ocean Independence Palma Barbara Müller commented:
‘Response from yacht owners and clients to this first event for over a year has been hugely positive. We have already successfully completed our first charters of the season locally here in Mallorca and bookings are gaining momentum week by week – while the sale and purchase market continues its extraordinary bounce back from last year. We are looking forward to a busy open weekend and season ahead.’
